Sioux Biochemical, Inc. is a private biotechnology company that was founded in 1995 in response to a need for purified proteins from the research community.

Now located on the southwestern edge of Sioux Center IA in a large, state-of-the art facility, Sioux Biochemical, Inc. has greatly expanded its product lines and production capabilities while retaining space for future growth and expansion.

With our experienced team of scientists, Sioux Biochemical, Inc. specializes in isolating, purifying and providing quality research proteins; these proteins include hormones and enzymes from animal, plant and microbial origin. In addition, we are currently working with biotechnology companies who are pioneering the use of transgenic plants to produce recombinant proteins for the pharmaceutical, animal health, and industrial protein markets. Sioux Biochemical also has developed extraction and purification capabilities for native products from plants as well.

In addition to isolating and purifying proteins, Sioux Biochemical uses its own patented process to produce Sioux-PS, an all natural soy-based phosphatidylserine which is used as a nutritional supplement that has been shown to help maintain and improve cognitive brain function in adults.

Manufacturing biodiesel from corn and soy oil is another main operation of Sioux Biochemical. We also provide quality control services for our sister company, Sioux Pharm, Inc.
