Dr. Allan Kramer, President,
Dr. Kramer received his M.S. in Organic
Chemistry from Kansas State University in 1970 and his Ph.D.
in Biochemistry from American University, Washington D.C.
in 1974. He is founder and co-owner of Sioux Biochemical, Inc.
and has served as its president since its inception. He worked
at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD doing
research on Multiple Sclerosis. He has taught at local Iowa
colleges and enjoys agricultural research. Since 1987 he
has been involved at the management level in the biotechnology
industry. In 1998, he co-founded Sioux Pharm, Inc. which
produces nutraceuticals, including chondroitin sulfate, a
popular supplement for joint health.
Dr. Randy Meyer, Director of
Research and Development, Dr. Meyer is an expert
in the field of endocrinology and serves as the head of
research and Development. Dr. Meyer received his Ph.D. in
Animal Science from the University of Minnesota in 1995. Dr.
Meyer has 24 publications in the fields of Endocrinology and
Biochemistry. Currently Dr. Meyer is overseeing several
promising new projects in various stages of development. He is
married and he and his wife and two children reside near Sioux
Center, IA.
Bill Van Horssen, Chief
Financial Officer, Mr. Van Horssen has been
involved in finance and administration since 1970. He has a
wealth of business experience including international
business. He began serving a Chief Financial Officer shortly
after the inception of Sioux Biochemical. He is responsible
for finance, human resources, risk management,
purchasing and general administration.
Dr. Barton Slagter, Director
of Process Development, Dr. Slagter received his
Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from North Dakota
State University in 2003. Currently Dr. Slagter is involved in
process development for several new projects at Sioux
Biochemical. Dr. Slagter provides support to our customers
during development and scale-up of their projects. He also
provides direction and support to the production
staff. He is married and he and his wife and daughter
reside near Sioux Center, IA.
